The conversation climate gives us the conditions to communicate and understand each other. How then to create the right conditions? Here comes step 2 of our blog series on how to have the best possible employee interview in 7 steps.

Employee interview step 2: Create the conditions
- According to Yesbox experience, many managers ask themselves the question:
"How can you create a really good conversation climate during the employee conversation?"
A conversation that stands for both trust and openness.
1. Create consensus through body language, gestures, facial expressions, voice and language. Remember that in the first part of the conversation it is important to be flexible, open and relaxed
2. Show genuine interest. Have no preconceived notions.
3. Find the right place, preferably one quiet place where you will not be disturbed.
4. Goals, rules and agenda. Tell about the goal of the conversation, for example that the conversation stops between you and explain the areas that you are going to cover.
5. Humour. Humour is liberating and relationship-building. Show your human side.
Focus: Be adamant with gestures, posture, voice and language during the conversation. Be genuinely curious.
Challenge: What are you curious about with your employee
Good luck with developing the conditions you need for having the best conversation climate and with your employee conversations!
