THE IMPORTANCE OF HUMILITYCONFIDENCE AND AVOIDING CROSS-CERTAINTY
Today we want to reflect on the importance of being humble and avoiding cross confidence both in leadership and in our daily lives. We were inspired by one of this year's summer talks by David Thurfjell, a respected historian of religion who addressed this important topic.
As a leader, it is crucial to understand and apply humility in one's actions. It's about being open to different perspectives, listening to our employees and being willing to learn from them. Just as David shared his personal experiences from different places, we can also learn a lot by being open to others' viewpoints and cultural backgrounds.
In leadership, as in all aspects of society, cross-confidence and overconfidence can cause conflict and separation. When we instead embrace humility, we realize that all individuals have their unique ways of contributing to the organization and that different perspectives enrich our workplace.
Employee surveys plays an important role in this context. By conducting regular surveys and actively listen to the opinions of our employees, we create a culture where open dialogue and mutual respect are encouraged. It gives us the opportunity to understand the different needs and expectations of our employees and enables customized improvements and clarity. This leads to a more pleasant working environment and increased productivity.
Cultivating humility is a continuous journey. It's about being open to learning and daring to admit when we're wrong. It's also about not just tolerating differences, but actually embracing them as a strength for our leadership and our organization. Talk about it continuously after, for example, a measurement.
By avoid cross security, we create a more inclusive one and warmer workplace, where employees feel seen, heard and appreciated for their unique contributions. This in turn leads to increased job satisfaction and commitment, which is crucial for a successful organization.
So let's listen together and strive for a world where humility and respect are fundamental values within our organizations. By embracing differences and working together, we can build a better future for all of us.
